Station Boxmeer

"which is better - to be born stupid into an intelligent society or intelligent into an insane one?"

❃ Aldous Huxley ❃

"If machines produce everything we need, the outcome will depend on how things are distributed. Everyone can enjoy a life of luxurious leisure if the machine-produced wealth is shared, or most people can end up miserably poor if the machine-owners successfully lobby against wealth redistribution. So far, the trend seems to be toward the second option, with technology driving ever-increasing inequality."

❃ Stephen Hawking ❃

"Man is the only animal for whom his own existence is a problem which he has to solve."

❃ Erich Fromm ❃

❃ Albert Einstein ❃

"Our comforting conviction that the world makes sense rests on a secure foundation: our almost unlimited ability to ignore our ignorance."

❃ Daniel Kahneman ❃

"It is until a mosquito lands on your testicles, when you learn that violence does not solve all problems"

❃ African proverb ❃

"The secret of genius is to carry the spirit of the child into old age, which means never losing your enthusiasm."

❃ Aldous Huxley ❃

"Anger is the punishment we give ourselves for someone else's mistake."

❃ Gautama Buddha ❃

"It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it."

❃ Aristoteles ❃

"Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect."

❃ Mark Twain ❃

"Blues is easy to play, but hard to feel."

❃ Jimi Hendrix ❃

"We should do away with the absolutely specious notion that everybody has to earn a living. It is a fact today that one in ten thousand of us can make a technological breakthrough capable of supporting all the rest. The youth of today are absolutely right in recognizing this nonsense of earning a living. We keep inventing jobs because of this false idea that everybody has to be employed at some kind of drudgery because, according to Malthusian Darwinian theory he must justify his right to exist.
So we have inspectors of inspectors and people making instruments for inspectors to inspect inspectors. The true business of people should be to go back to school and think about whatever it was they were thinking about before somebody came along and told them they had to earn a living.”"

❃ Buckminster Fuller ❃

❃ Boeddha ❃

"After silence, that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music."

❃ Aldous Huxley ❃

❃ Noam Chomsky ❃

"Ignore the people who threaten your joy. Literally, ignore them. Say nothing. Don't invite any parts of them into your space."

❃ Alex Elle ❃

"Suicide doesn't end the pain, It just passes it on to someone else."

❃ Srishti Chopra ❃

"The perfect dictatorship would have the appearance of democracy, a prison without walls in which the prisoners would not dream of escape. A system of slavery where, through consumption and entertainment, slaves would love their servitude."

❃ Aldous Huxley ❃

"You don't need religion to have morals. If you can't determine right from wrong, then you lack empathy; not religion."

❃ Onbekend ❃

"Schaadt het niet, dan baat het niet."

"Wise men don't judge: they seek to understand."

❃ Wei Wu Wei ❃
